What Do We Treat?

We are happy to see any patients for post-surgery physiotherapy. Whether it is toe surgery or spine surgery, we have you and your rehab covered.We have extensive experience with post-op knee management and post-op shoulder physio. We are also happy to work with general surgery patients, and others recovering from illness or hospital admission, to get them back into condition.

Why Is Post-Op Physio Important?

Post-surgical rehabilitation physio treatment is a valuable part of the surgical process to ensure optimal outcome and recovery.Once you are discharged from hospital, it can be important to see the physio in the first week to get started with your recovery protocols.Your surgeon and GP will usually give you a regimen to follow with your physio, and your physio will generally explain and supplement this with a thorough rehab program.

What Can Our Post-Op Physio Patients Expect?

In the early post-surgery physio there is a focus on education, pain and swelling management, and ensuring the protection of the operated area.Early physio will likely entail maintenance exercises for surrounding joints and muscles.

In accordance with your surgeon’s protocols, physiotherapy treatment provided in Randwick at The Movement Centre generally focuses on restoring movement and strength to the injured area; and progressing this specific to your needs and your goals.We pride ourselves on individualised care.

Our Post-Op Physio Facilities

We have private, fully enclosed treatment rooms (not just a curtained off communal area for changing), and a large and well-equiped gym space.We have PowerPlay Compression unit – an incredible device that combines cryotherapy (Ice) and compression – to help manage the acute pain and swelling.This can be incredibly beneficial both pre-op and post-op. As well as NormaTec compression boots and hip attachments as part of our health services. NormaTec is a world-class recovery system used with great success post-surgically. In short, we want to provide the perfect environment for recovery.Our gym is available for our patients to use for their rehab.
