At The Movement Centre, we are often asked questions about Randwick physio treatment covered under Medicare. 

EPC Physio In Randwick

We happily welcome patients who have a medicare referral for physiotherapy from their GP.  Referrals for Medicare physio in Randwick usually come in the form of an Enhanced Primary Care plan (an EPC).  This is a referral from your GP for allied health services for a specific chronic condition.  The current plan allows for up to 5 physiotherapy sessions a year, as specified by your GP.

Our Randwick EPC physio patients must have a valid EPC plan from their GP (and it must be used in the same calendar year in which it is issued).

Our Aim For Community Medicare Physio

Our aim is for all people in our community to have access to the best possible healthcare.   We offer physiotherapy treatment under the Medicare scheme for our patients, and we can apply the medicare rebate on-site where eligible.  Alternatively we can provide you with invoices and relevant details and you can claim back the rebate from Medicare.  Even with a Medicare rebate, there is still a small out of pocket expense, however we aim to keep this as small as possible.

Medicare And EPC Plans

A crucial part of treatment under Medicare care plans is the communication between the allied health and the referring doctor.  As these plans are usually for chronic conditions, you can expect your treatment to be comprehensive.  Treatment will likely involve education about your condition, active strategies and exercises, and hands-on manual therapy where relevant.
